Unilorin celebrates Tunde Idiagbon. Set to honour Admiral Alabi Lawal and General Adisa
The Public Relations Officer of the Association, Com. Balogun Muhammad Jamiu in a press statement released on behalf of the Association stated that the National Association of Kwara State Students, University of Ilorin, shall be honoring the Late General Abdulbaki Babatunde Idiagbon with this year harmony week. The Association is a forum of Kwarans who are schooling in the better by far campus of the University of Ilorin. Arrangements are currently being made to honour other people with awards of celebration which are in a bid to appreciate the actions of Kwarans who have distinguished themselves in several ways.
He is not faceless but fearless. He is a Fulani man. He was trained as a soldier and he fought for the unity of Nigeria during the civil war. He was a military administrator of the old Borno State of Nigeria. He is General Abdulbaki Babatunde Idiagbon. He is an icon and a legend within the story of the people of Kwara State.
The president of the Association stated that the honouree is being honored by the Association in the way to celebrate his exceptional behavior among several other things. He pointed out that the celebration flows from the fearlessness and patriotism of the honoree which has generated him love from the people of Nigeria. His administrative prowess, as displayed in the Buhari-Idiagbon regime glitters more the image of Kwara State. He added that the NAKSS_Unilorin Harmony Week shall feature Special Prayers, in a mosque and a church, Debate Competition, Cultural Carnival, Sporting events, and Public lecture.

Speaking on the public lecture, the Vice President of the University of Ilorin chapter of the National Association of Kwara State Students, Com. AbdulAzeez Lawal O., stated that the public lecture which is the main event shall be an avenue for people to tap from the knowledge of Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali(SAN). Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali(SAN) is being invited as the Guest Lecturer for the event. The Director of the Center for Ilorin Studies of the University of Ilorin, Dr. I. A. Jawondo is being invited as the Keynote Speaker for the public lecture. The Chairman of the occasion shall be Alh. Hakeem Lawal.
Other 'legends' to be honored with posthumous awards are the Late Admiral Muhammed Alabi Lawal and Late General AbdulKareem Adisa. The Chairperson of the public lecture planning committee, Alabi Maryyam of the department of Geophysics, stated that the events are purposely to celebrate the good old days of the people of Kwara State.
The events shall hold between the 28th day of June to the 4th of July, 2019. The Public lecture stated to be the main event shall hold on the 4th of July, 2019.
